Bon Iver is a self-titled album released in 2011 contanining 10 songs. This is my favorite album out of their discography without a doubt. Almost every song on the album rates highly amongst my favorite songs of all time. Not only I feel this way - this album is their most awarded. The song "Holocene" was nominated for Record and Song of the year at the 54th Grammy's. They also won Best New Artist and Best Alternative Album that year.
The band remarked this album as a departure from their first. While a lot of the songs have the same feel there were plaenty of new choices made. Vernon's voice is more prominent, the lyrics are clearer, new instruments were used that weren't prominent before. This took the band from a very "indie" to an "alternative" band. This album by far had more of a push and has stood the test of time.
I love all songs on this album by my favorites have to be "Michicant", "Calgary", and "Wash".
