And The Silver Spoon

When Theo gets home late from school wearing a hoodie, your brow furrows in concern.

You've felt closer to Theo than ever before these past couple days after connecting about Manhattan superheroes. It wasn't like him to walk in with something to hide.

You shoot up from the couch before he can sneak into his room unnoticed.

"What's with the hood, Kenobi?"

You see Theo stop dead in his tracks. You take a composing breath, noticing that Theo is avoiding showing his face.

"Oh, uh, hey!"" Theo supplies nervously. You step forward with a tilted head as he continues shielding himself from you.

"What, you got a hickey?"

"What?!" Theo grimaces in disgust. "No! C'mon."

"Alright, alright. Seriously though, everything okay?"

"Everything is fine!" Theo insists, finally getting his bedroom door open.

"Just checking," you say, sauntering into the room behind him. He notices that you've followed him in, keeping his back to you. "You know, you can tell me anything, Theo."

"Right," Theo says, shooting you a thumbs up. "Thanks, Dad. I'm gonna shower."

You frown. You're not leaving without answers.

"C'mon, kiddo, out with it. I've never seen you wear a hoodie."

"Just trying something new!" Theo laughs awkwardly, tossing his bag onto his bed and crossing to his dresser.

With your heart in your throat, you huff, too, taking Theo's shoulder and turning him toward you.
