The Editor-in-Chief is the highest role on the yearbook staff. They are typically seniors and have the most experience. They are in charge of assignments, theme, and make the final decisions (other than the teacher or advisor).
The Junior Editor is the second highest role on the yearbook staff. They are typically juniors and are the next in line to become the Editor-in-Chief. They work with the editor and help with decisions, assignments, and other staff members.
The Copy Editor is one of the main editors. Their main job is writing and editing stories. They get assigned tasks like typing students’ names for club pictures and making sure the stories are interesting and correct.
The Photo Editor is one of the main editors. Their main job is to take pictures at events and assign students to go to take pictures. They are also in charge of using Photoshop for cutting out backgrounds, resizing things, etc. This is the position I had in high school.
On my staff, veterans were students who had experience but did not have a leadership position. They are the ones who will receive an additional page if another student does not get it completed on time. Staffers are members with no experience and no position. They are typically freshmen and get assigned tasks that nobody wants to do.
