On a hot summer's morning, Sage's older brother runs into her room and starts aggressively shaking her awake. Sage, disoriented, is confused as to why her brother would abruptly wake her up so early in the morning. She rubs her eyes and blinks her tired eyes up at her brother. Her brain immediately wakes up when she sees the redness around her brother's eyes. He gives her what was his attempt at a small smile, but came out as a small grimace. He takes her hand and walks her downstairs and they end up at the kitchen table when she notices the note stuck to the table. She picks it up and it is a letter from her father that says, I can't do this anymore. Goodbye.
She looks up at her brother and only lets one tear fall. She goes up back to her room to the framed photo of her and her father and smashes it to the ground. She does not cry, she does not scream, she does not know what to feel.
How are you going to help Sage?
