Before New York City shut down completely on March 22nd, our lives were completely different. Even though we can still communicate and still form connections, things just do not feel the same. It is like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.
Emily and Louis share a guilty pleasure. The clear answer is the cookies from Levain Bakery. How could you not die over the taste of their freshly baked cookies? At least one night a week Louis will give Emily that clear and distinguished look after they are finished with dinner. The look of "we gotta walk over to Levain NOW." Emily couldn't ever seem to resist him.
They have been dating for about 1 year and they decided to move into a place together 2 months ago. Things had been going smoothly, until the end of March. Being a semi-new couple and being stuck in one apartment together makes for some interesting times.
It is now the beginning of summer and Louis can feel Emily pulling away from him. It is obvious to them both that something has to change, but it will take effort by both parts.
