Before New York City shut down completely on March 22nd, our lives were completely different. Even though we can still communicate and still form connections, things just do not feel the same. It is like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.
Danielle and April met at The Strand in book galore. Danielle can remember the first time she spotted April. April had short pink hair and round glasses. She was holding the book Normal People, flipping through the pages and drowning out the hustle and bustle of the bookstore.
The only thing Danielle didn't notice was the fact that April had also noticed her. April can remember seeing Danielle looking through different books and only reading the last few pages to catch a glimpse of the ending.
They stood next to each other while waiting to check out.
Danielle made the first move. "I like your hair."
Everything else is history. They are married now. The honeymoon phase ended before quarantine, but they still make efforts to try new things and learn more about each other.
Quarantine might have been the exact thing they needed.
What did they need?
