After school you and your new friends walk out with a sense confidence that makes everyone move out of your way. You feel strong enough to take on the world.
You glance to the side to see your friends staring at you as you walk by. You move to go over to them but someone grabs your elbow and pulls you back.
"They aren't your friends okay? We are." they say with an undertone of authority that you can't help but follow.
You give your friends a look as to say sorry but they shake their heads and walk away.
A feeling comes back. A pain that hurts more than anything you've ever experienced. It makes you want to cry, scream, run, or do anything except pretend. You've had this feeling since class when you joined in bullying Evan. It hurts but you push it down.
Your new friends start talking and you try to pay attention as best you can. You hear something about a house, eggs, and spray paint. You're about to ask what they are talking about when they all turn to you. There is a look in their eyes that tells you what they are about to say will bring that feeling back. Make it worse than ever. You listen to what they say and immediately agree.
You'll do it. Even if you'll hate yourself for it because this is what people at the top do.
