But the great thing about time apart is that it smooths everything over. You still only see each other on occasion at a party or for brunch but she’s still the same friend you made all those years ago. She’s still friendly and outgoing, funny and smart just like you remember.

Eventually, you realize that you’re okay with the relationship being different. Not every friendship is meant to stay close forever. And as much as you miss the old times, you realize that it’s okay for the past to just be the past.

You still love her anyways.
