LIFE ON A FARM

Your body cannot produce anymore eggs. You have lost all of your feathers in the process. After your one to two year life of doing nothing but producing eggs, possibly never seeing the light of day, (even if you are on an organic, open ranged farm) you will be sent to another farm to be slaughtered. If your body has become too deformed in your living conditions to be killed for your flesh, you will be disposed by ways including grinding you alive, gassing you, or dumping you into landfills.

A natural lifespan of a chicken is between ten to twenty years.

In one case, 15,000 "spent" egg-laying hens were tossed alive into a wood chipping machine, a common industry practice.

Almost all egg laying hens will die prematurely or be slaughtered for their meat.

The egg industry is the poultry industry.
