You come home late. All of your work is done and you are feeling accomplished and ready to take on the rest of the work week with ease. You check the time (10:30 pm) and notice that both your children are sleeping now. Tate is sitting on the couch watching TV. He is visibly upset as you told him before you would try your best to get home early to spend time with him and the kids.

Tate assures you that Kylie is feeling a bit better and understands that you needed to go to work. She calmed down the second he put on cartoons for her this morning. Evan, on the other hand, was upset when he got home from soccer practice that evening and saw his mother still wasn't home. He wanted to be the one to let you know that he scored his first goal. He also wanted to you to help with him his homework. Evan is less understanding of your absence, as is Tate. Work is putting a strain on your marriage, and since Evan is older he is noticing that you are putting work first.

You go to bed.
