Welcome to The Plaza Hotel!

Did you know the plaza hotel is one of the most famous luxury hotels in the world? Opening in 1907, the Plaza sits on the swanky corner of 5th Avenue and Central Park South. The first Plaza Hotel was demolished in 1905 in order to create an even grander hotel, which then took a total of two years to build. When the new and improved Plaza opened its doors on October 1st, the project had nearly cost a total of $12.5 million. The hotel attracted the wealthiest of Americans and Europeans and served as the backdrop for famous novels such as "The Great Gatsby" and the children's classic, "Eloise."

Fun Fact: Did you know that "The Beatles" stayed at The Plaza while on their first trip to America? They had an entire wing to themselves and wrote the song "Michelle" while there, then took all the hangers from the closets when they left.
