Regaining Faith in Manhattan

Throughout history New York City has been the epicenter for the Catholic church. Although New York has evolved drastically overtime, the city of ambition that has pushed for change and cultural differences left the church stranded and struggling along time ago. With the church being suppressed throughout history, many of the most historically relevant churches of Manhattan were forced to close over the booming real estate era of the 20th century. This map is a historical look at a few of the churches that never made it through the years of rapid change. Although the Christian faith is something that has long been hushed in New York culture, this map will also takes a look at the future, giving spotlight to some of the newer churches that are making a splash in the Big Apple.
