As you enter the third cave, you are faced with an immediate drop off. Peeking
over the edge, you notice a layer of fog obscuring the ground below. From here, it's impossible to tell if it's 30 feet or 100. Boris sets up his equipment and ties the four of
you together. Hans goes first, carefully creeping his body off of the ledge. He hangs there for a moment, taking a slow deep breath before pushing himself off the craggy
wall. He is followed promptly by Sigvard, then Boris, then you. You repel down quietly, focusing intently on each movement, when suddenly, you hear a booming sound from
above. You look up to see a boulder ping-ponging off the cave walls, growing larger and
larger, closer and closer, when-
WHACK!
You feel nothing but a strong tug from the harness beneath you. You look down to see
Boris and Sigvard, but where Hans should be, there is only a torn rope. When the three
of you finally reach the bottom, you find his body crushed by the boulder, harness torn
around his waist.
When you finally exit, you are faced once more with three dark tunnels
Again, Sigvard claims they each lead to the exit, but present their own unique hazards.
The first, leads to a frigid waterfall and fast-moving stream, guaranteed hypothermia.
The second leads to a nearly vertical slide, an unstable rock formation, guaranteed broken bones.
The third leads to a thin walkway above a seemingly bottomless chasm, guaranteed a long way down.
