Panic is a game that depicts what it is like to live with anxiety. The main goal of the game is to help people who do not suffer from anxiety to better understand people who do. The game focuses on the different mental and emotional states that people go through when they are in a state of anxiety and the sorts of choices that anxiety leads them to make. The hope for this game is to encourage people to have more empathy and sympathy for individuals who are suffering from anxiety.
You will assume the role of Morgan, an androgynous character who suffers from varying levels of anxiety. In the game, Morgan, a freshman in college, is confronted with a number of difficult and stressful situations. Each situation has an associated stress level indicating how stressful Morgan finds it to be. For each situation, Morgan must make a decision about how to proceed. Selecting a course of action will reveal an intensity level for available choices as well as some explanation of the mental and emotional state that correlates to the choice. Once a scenario has been completed, links to other situations become available, and Morgan proceeds to the next trial.
