You got home to an empty apartment. Theo was, no doubt, still at school.
You unloaded your groceries and changed into comfier clothes. You poured yourself a drink, waiting for Theo to come home.
Around 6pm, you wondered what was taking him so long. You even started to worry. His after-school clubs didn't even run this late.
By 11pm, Theo never came home. You were officially panicking.
You called the police. They couldn't do anything until 24 hours had passed.
You paced the living room, turning on the news as you called Theo's number a twentieth time.
On the news, the tragic news of Apex's passing in the fight you saw earlier in your day was being reported.
Apex was dead.
And Theo never came home.
