"My name is Cassie, I grew up in Freeport, which is mostly people who are Hispanic or Black, but I am white. When I was younger I was blinded to the difference between towns like Freeport, and then the town next to us is Merrick, which is super white, but now you can tell the difference in access even just in the public school system. For me personally, I grew up playing lacrosse, and also soccer and winter track, and with sports, you travel to these other schools that are mostly white and you can see the privileges they have that we do not have in districts like Freeport."
