This map explores historically significant and old trees in all five NYC boroughs. When we think of NYC, buildings and lights come to mind, not the trees you might pass by. But there are many trees that were here before the buildings, and they are just as important. Trees are the givers of life, and without them NYC would be a dull and lifeless place. I invite you to take a journey and learn about these trees, and think of NYC in a different way. These trees stand tall, but their stories unfortunately remain hidden and small.
