COMPANY HANDBOOK

INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. This handbook was developed to provide you with an information source for common, and uncommon, questions, protocols and concerns. The policies stated in this handbook are subject to change at any time at the sole direction of Weylan-Yutani Corporation. The contents of this handbook are not intended to create a contract or agreement between the Corporation and parties. Please direct any other questions to your vessel’s captain, as they will be able to consult your MU/TH/UR 6000 command system.

There are a number of situations where command of the ship will not fall directly to the vessel’s captain. In the event that the captain is not present on the ship or otherwise incapacitated, the chain of command is as follows:
Captain
Executive Officer
Warrant Officer
Science Officer
Navigator
Engineer
Engineering Technician
Access to the MU/TH/UR 6000 command system is only to be granted to the next member of the chain of command in the event that the captain is incapacitated.

VIOLATION OF COMPANY POLICIES
Any violation of policies and protocols set forth in this handbook or by Mother will result in the immediate forfeiture of the employees share of the expeditions yield. Severe violations may result in civil penalties or criminal prosecution. These will be determined solely by Weyland-Yutani Corporation.

3RD PARTY SIGNAL PROTOCOLS
All Weyland-Yutani sponsored vessels and expeditions require crews to investigate any and all distress beacons unless there is obvious immediate risk of harm to the crew or payload. Failure to adequately respond to and investigate these signals will result in immediate forfeiture of shares of payload.

QUARANTINE PROCEDURES
Weyland-Yutani Vessels travel to distant planets, some of which have never been touched by humans. While the chance of life existing on any of these planets is extremely low, the Company takes the utmost care in protecting its employees and their families. This section details quarantine procedures should there be a suspected contact with any life form, ranging from microbial to humanoid.
NO organism is to be allowed onto the ship, including airlocks, prior to investigation by the vessel’s science officer.
If contamination is detected after entering the airlock, under NO circumstances should the doors to the airlock be opened to the rest of the ship.
We have provided a mobile analysis lab for these moments. The missions science officer should set up a mobile station on the planet’s surface or in an alternate airlock to investigate the contamination before allowing any persons or objects further into the ship.
If contamination is detected after entering the vessel, all persons who have had contact with the contaminated object or individual must be confined to the infirmary until further analysis of the nature of the contamination is completed.
All persons interacting with a contaminated individual or object MUST wear their approved Hazardous Materials suit.
All persons involved in a quarantine procedure on ship will be put into quarantine upon returning to Earth.

EMERGENCY INFORMATION
The Weyland-Yutani Corporation has taken redundancy in its safety protocols extremely seriously. This vessel is equipped with two lifeboats, both of which are equipped with distress beacon broadcasting systems as well as stasis pods.
In the extremely unlikely event of a catastrophic endangerment of the crew, including but not limited to contamination or attack by pirates, there is a self destruction procedure in place. This process is not to be used except in the most extraordinary of circumstances. Once activated, self destruction will occur in 10 minutes. For your safety there is also a FAILSAFE system which allows users to cancel the self-destruct sequence within 5 minutes of activation.

NOTE: THERE IS NO WAY TO STOP THE SELF DESTRUCT SEQUENCE AFTER 5 MINUTES HAVE PASSED.
Only the three most senior members of a vessel’s crew are trained for this procedure. If for some reason these three members are not able to do so, the next ranking member can receive the instructions from the MU/TH/UR 6000 command system.
