There have been many significant protests throughout history, but these recent BLM protests may have been the largest protests in United States history. It is estimated that between 16-26 million people participated in these protests against institutional racism and police brutality. Many people have blamed the world-wide pandemic of COVID-19 for causing unrest in the counrty already and giving people the time to spend those weeks protesting. After George Floyd was murdered and everyone watched the recording on live TV, the entire country could agree that change needed to be made.
