- The Nationals finished the regular season tied for 4th place with the New York Mets in the National League East Division.
- The Washington Nationals won the World Series in 2019 in game 7 against the Houston Astros. Before 2019, the Nationals have been to the postseason in 4 of out of 7 seasons since 2012, never being able to make it past the National League Division Series.
- Additionally, prior to 2012, the last time the Nationals made the playoffs was back in 1981 when they were still known as the Montreal Expos. They ended up losing in the National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Nationals Park
- Plans for the new Nationals ballpark to built was planned in March of 2006, and construction was completed by HOK/Devrouax-Purnell Architects at a total cost of $611 million.
- The stadium was opened to the public on March 30, 2008, and has a capacity to seat 41,313 fans.
- A unique feature within Nationals Park is the GEICO Presidents Race that takes place during the fourth inning of every Nationals home game. Former presidents such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt take part in the race.
