Our ivey covered house on Bienveneda Ave in a the small beach town of Pacific Palisades California had the case of black mold. The kind that didn't go away after a whole remediation. It was so bad that my stepmother's already weak immune system from 10 years of lymes disease also suffered from a severe mold infection, and was preventing her from recovery. And the thing about L.A. is that the warm, humid climate breeds mold in houses. My step mom's symptoms were getting unbearable and we needed to get out fast. So during the first week of the fall 2020 semester we threw away 60% of everything we owned and then the rest was put into storage(after vacuumung and wiping every item down with either white vinegar or ammonia to kill any mold spores). Dad and Charlotte (my step mom) went to stay in a cabin in Idaho to get away and figure out what to do next, and I went to stay with my brother in the extra room of his Seattle apartment.
