The healing power of art

Harvard Health Publishing of Harvard Medical School did a brief article on how the process of creating is beneficial towards mental health. Art has a way of reducing stress and promoting relaxation. It's proven to be especially helpful for people who have and illness or are facing death. The article stated that people with dementia or other neurological diseases still have the ability to create long after they have lost ability to speak. But it has nothing to do with being skilled, Megan Carleton, an art therapist from a Harvard-affiliated Massachusets General Hospital said that "It's the process, not the product". Being able to channel your feeling and thoughts towards just something that is enjoyable has a powerful effect.
