In 1966, this small cafe was a safe haven for people who felt like they didnt belong - people like transgender activist Felicia Flames and her friends.

You see, during this time it was illegal for Felicia and her friends to be their true selves. Being transgender was seen as a crime, which forced Felicia and her friends to meet in secret at Comptons late at night.

But sadly, Comptons wasnt always so safe.
