You get to his house, stop the car, and rush to the front door. Evan comes up behind you to open the door and explains that his parents don't come home till 7 so the house is empty
You both walk in and he goes to sit down on the couch in his living room. You sit down next to him and nothing is said for awhile.
“I'm sorry," you hear yourself say faintly, “for never doing something till now…for always watching thinking you could handle it. I don't know why I thought that. I’m here now though. They will probably be suspended and when they come back we can fight them together.”
He looks at you and smiles while nodding. He clears his throat and tells you how, if you hadn't helped him today, he would never have seen tomorrow.
Tears start falling and as you hug both your faces are drenched but you don't care.
The only thing that matters is that Evan is still here.
