A year after deciding to be with her ex-boyfriend who helped her become a home-seller again, "Mother" has moved in with her ex-boyfriend and though she is happy being with him part of her wonders if she still has feelings for "Father". "Mother" believes these doubts will go away with time.
As for "Father", he has now graduated and was able to get a management position at Ford Motors company. Similar to "Mother", he continues to mull over whether or not divorce was the correct move, but he is satisfied with new career and gets to spend time with his children every so often.
Both "Mother" and "Father" are still grieving over "Son"'s death and are unsure if they will ever find true happiness again. At times they both cry themselves to sleep, but "Mother" believes that being with her ex-boyfriend and not "Father" was the correct move. "Father" at times still blames himself because he pushed "Son"
to become a police officer. It is indeed sad times for the family.
