Recently, the family has been able to pay off their bills and overall stress less about their financial state. However, "Father" has noticed that something is bothering "Mother" and after a few nights of proding her, "Mother" revealed that her boss forced her to sleep with him in order to get enough money to pay off their debt. After hearing the news, "Father" immediately felt anger towards the boss and knew that he wanted to confront him.
On the other hand, "Father" knows the history between the boss (ex-boyfriend) and "Mother", he has questioned her if she was forced or if she still had feelings for him. "Mother" did not give a satisfactory answer to "Father", but she insisted that her boss forced her. "Father" has noticed several issues that he and "Mother" had over the years and he is now question their marriage. "Father" believes he must now choose between:
confronting "Mother"'s boss
OR
getting a divorce
Since "Son" is away for Law School, "Mother" and "Father" have decided not to tell "Son" about their predicament, but they both understand that he will learn soon enough. "Mother" is also torn about the situation as she also questions whether or not she slept with her boss out of force or because she still had feelings. In spite of this, "Mother" has stated that if "Father" does want to get a divorce, she wouldn't fight it.
