to become a police officer

further his education by pursuing law school
to possibly become an attorney. "Son" is feeling the
butterflies, he is fine with continuing his education,
but it is his dream to become a police officer.
His parents are also fine with whatever "he" decides
to do, they are just unabashedly proud of him.
