Consequence

You hear the ding-a-ling on your phone that means you just received a snapchat. When you open it up, you hear your friend Melissa inviting you to a party at someone's house. The girl's parents are away for the weekend and it's gonna be lit. Your parents don't let you go to parties that are unsupervised, where there will be underage drinking, but you are a senior now and these are some of the last memories you can make with your friends, so you cautiously approach your parents to see what they think. You make a super persuasive argument. Must be all those years on the debate team finally have some real world applications, but as soon as they hear that her parents are out of town, they tell you no. They suggest you invite Melissa over for the night instead. Ugh. You were hoping that just this once they wouldn't care so much. You did just turn 18 after all. Shouldn't this be your decision to make? You hear another ding-a-ling and look down. Melissa snapchated you again, this time with a blank screen full of question marks. You contemplate saying anything back at all, but you have to keep your streak going so you decide to respond.
