The room fills up quickly with other teens and soon every chair is full. You guess there are probably somewhere between 50-60 people there along with two staff. One of the staff is in the corner with a large stack of papers, the other is sitting in a chair in the circle. You assume this is the therapist. Everyone is talking to each other and you feel slightly out of place, but soon the therapist is getting everyone quiet and your attention is focused towards him. He says his name is Kevin and that this is check in group, it's just to see where you are at the beginning of the day and get to know everyone a little. He then asks someone in the group who has apparently been here for a while to go over the rules of every group. A guy who looks to be around your age stands up and lists off the rules,
"No cross talking, no romanticizing, no diminishing other people's or your own feelings, no fighting, participate, and confidentiality."
The boy sits down and the group starts. People say their name, why they are there, their mood, their goals for the day, and their favorite Disney movie. The juxtaposition of the last question following the first ones almost makes you laugh. As the circle gets closer to you you start to feel nervous about revealing things about yourself to a room of strangers. Answer the questions quickly Don't say anything Say it's none of their business
